Questions we get asked the most
Does the app require login or an account?+
No, NetPilot doesn't require any login or account creation. You can open the app and use all of its tools right away.
Why does the app ask for location permission?+
Android requires location permission for any app that wants to display the Wi-Fi network name or measure its signal strength, even if the app doesn't use your actual location for anything else. NetPilot uses this permission for that purpose only, and does not log, track, or store your location. Full details are available in the Privacy Policy.
Is my network data sent to anyone?+
No, your network data (like Wi-Fi name and signal strength) is used locally on your device only to power the app's tools, and we don't sell or share it for marketing purposes.
Does the app work with all types of routers?+
NetPilot supports most common home routers. Some advanced features, like managing certain settings, may vary depending on your router model and its supported capabilities.
Is the app completely free?+
Yes, the app is free to use, and it may display ads from Google AdMob to help us keep developing and supporting it.
Why does the app ask for contacts permission?+
The contacts permission is only used if you personally enable automation features linked to apps like WhatsApp. If you don't use this feature, the app will never access your contacts.
How can I remove permissions I've granted?+
You can go to your phone's Settings → Apps → NetPilot → Permissions at any time and revoke any permission you like. The related features will stop working until you re-enable them.
